APPLICATIONS FOR GRADES SIX THROUGH TWELVE NOW BEING ACCEPTED
Toledo School for the Arts will hold their annual New Student Open House Saturday, November 2nd from 10am to 12pm. The Open House provides an inside look at the school and is a day full of activities geared towards potential students and their families.
TSA (located at 333 14th Street in downtown Toledo, Ohio) began taking applications for the 2020-21 lottery the first weekend of October, and even with a January 31st deadline for Lottery inclusion, the time to apply is now!
Those interested in attending the Open House can tour the building at their own pace. Areas of interest include the junior high and high school academic classrooms and artistic studios, two galleries, the Flying Pig Café, an esteemed Center for Arts & Industry which is a floor designed to enhance hands-on experience in a wide variety of technical disciplines including costuming, school store and business marketing, video production, audio recording, and set construction.
Other activities during the New Student Open House include Q & A sessions for families with Director Doug Mead and other TSA administrators, a Student Extracurricular Organizations Fair, a meet and greet with the TSA Parents’ Organization, opportunities to talk with TSA teachers and students, performances and hands-on arts activities, and a lottery application assistance center.
The lottery application assistance enter is an area for those families who have questions about the lottery and enrollment process, would like to begin their online application for the 2020-2021 school year lottery, or who may be bringing supporting documents required to complete the lottery application. The lottery application process is completed online.
“What I love about the annual New Student Open House is that families have the opportunity to come and see how Toledo School for the Arts uses arts integration to enhance our high-quality academic programming. Because we have academic, artistic, administrative and support staff available on site, it is also an amazing chance to have questions answered about everything at TSA – classes, the lottery and enrollment process and how to complete your application for the 2020-21 school year lottery. There are also so many amazing performances to see and hands on activities to participate in. We hope to see you at the event,” said Doug Mead, TSA’s Director.
Questions about enrollment should be directed to TSA’s dedicated Enrollment Department at admissions@ts4arts.org or by calling 419-246-8732 x250.
