All students should enter through the loading dock entrance each morning. The students are able to enter the building via the Dock Entrance as early as 7:30, but they are not released to their lockers until 7:50. Class begins at 8:05 a.m. and students should be in the classroom by that time. After 8:05 a.m., students should be dropped off at the 14th Street door, but students shouldn’t enter through the 14th street door unless they’re late. Please follow the yellow arrows to ease traffic congestion in the parking lot.
School ends at 3:00 p.m. All students will be dismissed from the loading dock doors. Students should be picked up by 4pm, unless they are involved in after school activities.
A Parents’ Guide to TSA
If you missed the informational sessions during schedule pick up, or if you did not receive an informational packet, you can find it here!
Visitors must be checked into the first floor office on 14th Street before proceeding to the appropriate office or classroom. It is best to call ahead and make an appointment to ensure availability of your desired contact.
The 14th Street office is easily identified by the blue USPS mailbox in front.
To Report an absence, please call 419-246-8732 and follow the prompts to either the junior high or high school office
Students who must leave prior to the normal release time should be picked up and signed out from the first floor office on 14th Street.
Everyone is encouraged to check the online calendar or check the Daily Announcements (using the link below) to learn about daily activities at TSA
TSA works to maintain a healthy environment for our students and staff. First aid kits and stations are available throughout the building and in both main offices, and we have faculty trained as first responders.
We have a full time school nurse who is in the building between 8am and 3pm.
All medication, prescription or over-the-counter, must have a completed form with a physician’s signature before medication can be dispensed during school hours.
TSA prides itself on its continued academic success and appreciates involved parents. In order to provide students with the appropriate attention, parents are asked to email the teacher whenever possible to make individual appointments with teachers to discuss questions or concerns. Impromptu visits disrupt the daily activity flow.
Although TSA maintains an open door policy and will accommodate parent visits to the best of our ability, it is strongly encouraged that parents call to request an appointment to ensure the best use of available time in addressing concerns.
For parents of secondary school students, or eligible students who are 18 years or older: The student or his/her parent may request in writing that Toledo School for the Arts (the School) not release the student’s name, address, and telephone listing to any military recruiter or institution of higher education without the prior written consent of a parent, and the School shall comply with any such request. Please address requests on this topic to Beth Perry of the Counseling Office. She can be reached by email at: email@example.com
First Fridays are student performances for community members, families and friends of TSA. These are hosted on the first Friday of each month and run throughout the school year. A reception begins at 9 a.m. with visual arts and academic displays followed by a special half-hour performance at 9:30, featuring works from the music, dance, theater and academic studios.
