Overland Solar Sculpture Project

Want to win $250?

Toledo School for the Arts has a unique opportunity to create a large-scale project along with QSI (a fabrication company in Waterville, OH) with a student design as the project’s inspiration.  The Greater Toledo Community Foundation is funding the project. There will be multiple partners involved in the project that will have to be recognized in the sculpture itself as part of the design.  Artists should be prepared to incorporate corporate logos and names into their design.

This is an important project that has several benefits to our school:

  • Gain local & national recognition by being involved in this project
  • Paid student and staff work opportunities for the Summer
  • Valuable new skills and experiences
  • Raise funds for the school

All the information you need to familiarize yourself with the project and submit a concept or design can be found below. We encourage you to drive by the site to familiarize yourself with the scale of the project – it is HUGE!  The sculpture needs to be seen by traffic passing on the freeway.  Any questions could be directed to Ms. Watza (lwatza@ts4arts.org) or Ms. Carson (jcarson@ts4arts.org).

The student who creates the chosen design will receive $250 and the opportunity to be paid while building the sculpture over the summer.

All submissions should be upload by clicking the button below or given to Ms. Carson in room 430 if hand drawn.

The files must be either Adobe Draw or Illustrator files.
