On September 16, TSA hosted the 3rd Flying Pig Music Fest. This annual parking lot party is not only the first major fundraiser for the school, it stands out as the only major staff driven philanthropic event!! Every staff member was involved in some capacity– planning, volunteering, or appearing on stage; it was a chance for the TSA staff to ensure this event was a success!

Over 700 guests arrived to engage in a variety of activities, including face painting, caricatures, food trucks, a juried art fair, and children’s art activities. The main focus of the event is the music, and guests were treated to a wide range of genres! TSA sponsored an all alumni steel drum band, The Messengers of Steel, some selections from the upcoming musical “The Music Man”, and an all staff band” The Flying Blind Pigs”. Additional bands that featured at least one staff member included The Amelia Airharts, East River Drive, and Madison Avenue Band.

The third Flying Pig Music Fest was not only the most fun, it was the most successful—initial reports are showing over $10,000.00 in profit, which benefits the TSA general fund! This could not have been possible without the numerous hours that went into planning and hosting this event. A huge thank you to our student groups who lent a hand: TSA ambassadors, National Junior Honor Society, and National Honor Society. And to our staff and faculty—we are humbled by your continued dedication and support of Toledo School for the Arts.
