On Thursday, May 10, 2018, Toledo Community Foundation and Buckeye Broadband/BCSN announced this year’s Teacher of the Year. Out of 8 nominees Allison Reynolds Gogel, History teacher at Toledo School for the Arts, was chosen by a committee of community leaders and educators as the BCSN Teacher of the Year.

Allison Reynolds Gogel has been teaching social studies at Toledo School for the Arts for nine years. At TSA, faculty members creatively supplement their instruction by integrating the Arts into their lesson planning. Ms. Gogel was recognized for working with her teaching colleagues in different arts and academic disciplines to create a more integrated approach to learning; a great example of how both academic and artistic excellence can co-exist.​

The Links, Incorporated has partnered with Toledo School for the Arts to host their area poster contest to choose a student work for submission in the National Poster Art Competition.

Beginning in 1995, The Links, Incorporated’s National Walk-A-Thon has been hosting the National Poster Art Competition in an effort to spread awareness of health related issues. This year’s theme is Our Vision, Our Future: Healthy and Happy Communities promoting healthy and happy communities, this may include but is not limited to, healthy and clean environments, a bully-free world or an inclusive and diverse society.

From the studio of Ken Zuercher, TSA presents Jazz on Ice at 7pm on Tuesday, April 24 at the Ice Restaurant. This performance will be Mr. Zuercher’s final performance before retiring from TSA.

Zuercher worked his entire adult life in the industry and has aided in running, as well as performed with several bands including, the Morgan David band, Hepcatrevival and many more. Since joining TSA in 2000 Zuercher has positively influenced the lives of many students.
