UNDISCLOSED Gathers the Arts Community
Toledo School for the Arts held its sixth annual UNDISCLOSED event on June 21 with food and beverages by Cynthia’s Catering. Music by alumnus Kaiden Chase ‘16 and Big C of Distant Cousinz illuminated the TSA Sculpture Garden.
The TSA’s Martin D. Porter Gallery was filled with 12” x 12” art pieces created by 134 artists, whose names were on the back of the pieces, “undisclosed” to the guests. There were approximately 220 guests and many contributing artists in attendance for this unique and exciting event. Some of the guests in attendance included Tim and Areka Foster, Andrew Newby and Kristin Kiser, Karen Merrels, Marty and Anne Porter, Paul and Rona Rothschild and Tom and Kris Shook.
The highest bidder for this year’s raffle ticket Number 1 was Tracey Tangeman, who thus won the opportunity to be the first to select which piece she would like to take home. The first three artists whose works were chosen were Skot Horn, Tom Marino and Joe Pinciotti. Following tradition, TSA formally invited these three to show their works during the TSA DISCLOSED exhibition in September in the Porter Gallery. The three artists chosen after them were Kelly O’Brien, Kathleen Paul and alumnus Aaron Pickens ’07.
“Where else can a student show a piece right next to a visual arts rock star like Leslie Adams? It’s very exciting and has become a very popular event for our students as well as our community,” said Dave Gierke, TSA Development Director. The show raised a net of $10,000 for TSA, which would not have been possible without our guests and the support of Jules Webster and the Art Supply Depo staff. The Art Supply Depo has partnered with TSA on UNDISCLOSED for the past six years. We look forward to working with them for our seventh annual UNDISCLOSED on June 27, 2019.
