TSA Musicians continue to earn top ratings at OMEA HS Solo & Ensemble Adjudication.

TSA Band, Orchestra, Piano, and Vocal musicians have once again brought home top ratings at the 2018 Ohio Music Education Association District 1 (East) High School Solo and Ensemble Adjudication; the event was held on February 3, at Perrysburg HS.

Students perform for adjudicators and are critiqued against a matrix of musical standards using a five-rating system.  The following students qualified for OMEA medals:

Earning “Superior” ratings:

Quentin Brown, Alto Saxophone

Aidan Fischer, Trumpet

Kathryn Gyori, Piano

Nolan Johnson, Piano

Ema Kurbos-Cooper, Classical Guitar

Jose Martinez / Josh Lyphout, Cello Duet

Vance Raiti, Trumpet

Maisy Ransford, Oboe

Maisy Ransford, Viola

Lainie Roper, Trombone

TSA String Choir

Katelyn Trumbull, Soprano Vocal

Jessica Weaver, Soprano Vocal

 

Earning “Excellent” ratings:

Jack Kerger, Baritone Vocal

Samoria Russell, French Horn

 

In addition, the TSA String Orchestra earned the top rating at OMEA’s District 1 competition. The adjudicator remarked on the group’s “high energy” as well as “technical proficiency”.
