Student Organizations
AMBASSADORS
This activity group recognizes outstanding students based on academics and leadership. These members serve as the student “face” for events such as concerts, plays, open houses, picnics, First Fridays, and other occasions in which guests may visit our facility. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA with no grades lower than a C on each grade report. Members also complete a minimum of 12 service units annually.
ANIME CLUB
This club, started in 2007, focuses on anime and Japanese culture, including food, music, fashion, and language. It is open to all grade levels, but those under the age of twelve need a signed permission slip. Each meeting presents a new anime and manga, an artist of the month, and Asian snacks.
CREATIVE WRITING CLUB
Students develop and refine creative writing skills in a wide variety of genres, including poetry, prose, drama and songwriting. Through a process of workshops, peer review, and guest presentations, students participate in a wider literary community. This group performs a series of events at local venues. Creative Writing has become very popular at TSA, so in addition to the club, a class is now offered.
CULTURE CLUB
The Culture Club offers exposure to the Spanish-speaking world and its cultures for the upper division students. This club’s intent is to be educational and fun for all of its members, while looking beyond our own school to touch the lives of others and promote diversity.

The students participate in meets throughout Northwest Ohio and in the state tournament. Debate club members practice during the week, as well a fundraiser to cover the costs of competing.
FILM CLUB
Students watch/exhibit classic films (as defined by the American Film Institute); discuss different film making skills and roles, and create short films. The club is currently creating a documentary for PBS in conjunction with BGSU. Members film various TSA events on a request-basis and are given the opportunity to talk with professional film makers.
GLASS CITY STEEL
Glass City Steel is TSA’s very own steel drum band. This group rehearses after school and performs extensively throughout the school year and summer months. Members of GCS are paid for their performances during the summer series. GCS performs both traditional Calypso music as well as popular current tunes. TSA also has “Junior” Glass City Steel for grades 6-8 that offers an opportunity for younger students to get on the pan as well! Auditions are held early in the fall and positions are limited.
MATH CLUB
The Discovery Math Club provides students with mathematics enrichment beyond the regular classroom through the arts. This club offers peer tutoring. Membership requirements apply for students in grades 7-12, which can be obtained from the club advisor.

The TSA National Honor Society (NHS) encourages academic achievement while also fostering other character traits necessary to be a productive citizen. These traits include: scholarship, character, service and leadership. Members are required to maintain a 3.250 GPA or higher, participate in community and school service projects, and attend all meetings.
It is an honor and privilege to become a member of NHS. Please see NHS advisor for a list of criteria regarding eligibility, and for more information.

In addition to league and tournament play, members have practice and additional instruction on topics ranging from the structure of the universe, to the development of empires and major religions.
RECORDING CLUB
Students build audio recording skills using commonly used materials in the recording industry. Students learn to operate, install, and troubleshoot the entire recording process - from plugging in equipment, to final recording product, to sales and promotion.
RELIGIOUS STUDIES ORGANIZATION
The Religious Studies Organization exists for students of all faiths to learn and share about their own faith and the religions of others, to discover misconceptions while serving and interacting within the local community.

THEATRE PRODUCTIONS
Several times each year, TSA produces musicals or plays. Students participate as actors, musicians, and stage techs. Students audition to be part of these programs, and if selected, rehearse after school for several weeks in preparation for the performances. Some of the best area high school theatrical performances are presented
by TSA.
