On Sunday, March 18th, a reception was held for the 2018 Ninth Congressional District Invitational Art Exhibit. This annual event showcases high school two-dimensional artwork from the ninth district, which currently stretches from the Toledo area to Cleveland. Marcy Kaptur, the 9th District representative, was in attendance and delivered an inspiring talk about the importance of Visual Arts to the Lake Erie Coast economy. This year, Ms. Carson, Ms. Hayes, Ms. Horvath, and Mr. Johnston selected work from 10 students to represent TSA: Chloe Bergman, Zach Garn, Taylor Hill, Stephanie Jagodzinski, Zac Miller, Vin Mugavero, Liam Myers, Olivia Parr, Casey Riley, and Sydney Striker. Two of these students were singled out by jurors for special recognition: Zac Miller and Casey Riley received HCR ManorCare awards of $100 each, and Zac was also named Commercial Design Winner for his digital image Robot Christmas; as a result, his work was printed on Libbey glassware!
